Dear Class:
We are done with the Lesson 13 packet. One issue that needs to be clear is that Social Security and Medicare taxes are paid by both the employees and employers. 13-5 was done using the interactive spreadsheet that is posted on the Accounting website.
I will hand out Lesson 14 at the beginning of class. Lesson 14 deals with stocks; 3110-Capital Stock, 3120-Retained Earnings, 3130-Dividends, and 3140-Income Summary. We will deal with an 8-column worksheet for a merchandising business. This will be a hard Lesson so be prepared. Read ahead!
Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite

Dear Class:
Due today: Lesson 11 and the Mastery Problem which I will count as a "test". This is particularly important because the entire Mastery Problem dealt with the "Sales Journal", "Purchases Journal", and the "General Journal". The middle of the Mastery Problem has the "Cash Receipts Journal" and the "Cash Payments Journal". The end of the Mastery Problem is the "General Ledger", "Accounts Receivable Ledger", and the "Accounts Payable Ledger".
I will hand out Studey Guide 12 today. It deals with areas more of you will be familiar with: Salary, Withholdiings, Net Pay, and various Taxes. We will work on 12-1 working together and 12-2 and possibly 12-3. This stuff is much simpler than the previous work.
Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite
