Dear Class:

We are more than halfway through the semester and on pace for completing work for dealing with a Sole Proprietorship in a Service Industry.

Chapter 5 deals with checks and reconciling funds in your checking accounts with banks.  We did the first part, 5-1 Work Together (WT) and 5-1 On Your Own (OYO).  We also did 5-2 WT and OYO.  We also did 5-3 dealing with Recording dishonored checks, electronic funds transfers, and debit card purchases and then 5-4 dealing with Establishing and replenishing a petty cash fund.  We will end with Application Problems 5-1 and 5-2.

It is now Tuesday...We finished up Application Problems  P3-1, 3-2, 3-3, and 3-4.  Those that wanted the extra credit did the Application Problems for 1- or 2-.  Complete and upload into your folders. Dear Class:

It is now Wednesday...We finished up Study Guide 3 last class with 3-3 and 3-4 Work Together and On Your Own.

I am behind and because of that and because I want you to have more time for the test with more practice, we will do the Application Problems below and have the test next week.  I know this is upsetting to most of you but...sorry.  The below Application problem(s) will turn green if they are correct and red if not.

I want you to do the Application Problems so we will be doing the P3-1, 3-2, 3-3, and 3-4.  Do the second on 2-? for extra credit.  Complete and upload into your folders. Download the interactive spreadsheets at:  www.accountingxtra.swlearning.com.  This will help practice for the test next week.

I had you read the information and then work on the T/F and Multiple Choice on your own.  Lesson 10-1 deals with Journalizing Sales on Account Using a Sales Journal.  Lesson 10-2 deals with  Journalizing Cash Receipts Using a Cash Receipts Journal.  Lesson 10-3 deals with Recording Transactions Using a General Journal.

Most of the parameters deal with "tweaking" what was already explored.  For example, 10-1 will deal with sales tax that has not been previously explored.  10-2 deals with credit vs. cash sales, point-of-sale POS, batch reports, and sales discounts in the cash receipts journal.

Finally, 10-3 journalizing sales returns and allowances (credit memorandum).
